Every school has its star player. In Ateneo, it is this year’s Ateneo Blue Eagles basketball team captain Christopher John A.D. Tiu, a.k.a. Chris Tiu! He showed his spectacular skills on the court as a team player and a forefront of the team that finally took home the UAAP championship title after four years of waiting. Off the court, Chris’s popularity is evidently everywhere… you’d see his billboards for brands like Hanford and Adidas towering along the city’s major thoroughfares, you’d watch him host GMA7 shows Pinoy Records and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!, you’d read about him in many published articles in newspapers and magazines, and you’d feel his presence online via his well-visited blog CHRIS TIU. It cannot be denied that the 23-year-old brainy jock [He is a graduate of two courses, Management Engineering and Applied Mathematics! -Ed.] is one of the few young athletes today who are known and admired even by those who are not avid fans of the sport.
