There has been a lot of talk of how John Lloyd Cruz had reportedly broken up with his girlfriend Liz Uy because of Malaysian actress Carmen Soo. At the thanksgiving press conference of Kahit Isang Saglit, Jericho Rosales had also let it slip that Carmen was doing a movie with John Lloyd, adding further to the speculations. When ABS-CBN.com met up with Lloydy during the Bloggers Love Betty tour at the EcoModa set, we asked the reigning box office king about the rumors.

“Nag cameo ako sa movie niya (Carmen) with Direk Chito (Roño). Cameo lang ‘yung akin. May eksena kami ni Carmen na na-shoot na namin,” Lloydy exclusively told ABS-CBN.com. The actor also talked about what it was like working with Carmen. Lloydy even made a joke about what happened when he shot the short scene with the Malaysian actress. “Nagpapa-guide siya sa akin kung may mga hindi siya naiintindihan. Biniro ko siya, sabi ko, ‘I didn’t sign up for that. Dapat bayaran mo ako (laughs).’”

John Lloyd Cruz once again stressed that his relationship with his magazine editor girlfriend Liz is still going strong and that the issue with Carmen is nothing but a made-up story. In fact, ABS-CBN.com sources reported seeing the Lloydy and Liz just last Sunday, December 7, playfully feeding each other while ordering takeout near a posh residential subdivision.

The Box Office King first met Carmen at the Star Magic Ball last July. After that, the two would only see each other whenever Carmen would be a guest on ASAP ‘08 to promote her teleserye Kahit Isang Saglit. But the incident that seemed to have ignited all the gossip was when John Lloyd who was with a common friend bumped into Carmen at the Trinoma mall where they had lunch together.

In her recent appearance on The Buzz, Carmen reacted on how a simple innocent lunch was blown out of proportion. Apparently, after months of staying in the Philippines to shoot Kahit Isang Saglit, Carmen has not yet gotten used to publicity that comes with being a celebrity. Carmen added that the last thing she wanted was to be tagged as a boyfriend-stealer. She was once speculated to be the reason behind the bitter breakup of her leading man Jericho and then girlfriend Heart Evangelista, which was later proven to be untrue. -Abs.Cbn.com-
